I Hook, 5.5mm
Bright Red, White, and Black Yarn
Yarn Needlez, scissorz, the normal 🙂
Notes:
- Ch 2 does not count as a st, unless specifically stated, which it’s not so yeah
- I tend to crochet tightly compared to other hookers, keep this in mind. I did try to watch myself as I made my beanie, but a few people have said their beanie turned out super slouchy!
- If this remains popular I’ll make other sizes too!
- oh! if you see mistakes, or get confused on any part, PLEASE let me know! I really want to improve and my patterns be easy peazy to follow! oh! oh! also post your (adult) kids’ pictures of your beanie to my Facebook, Instagram, or (soon) blog so I can see! :))))
Adult:

1: MC, Ch 2, 12 DC into ring, pull tight, join with sl st to first DC

Fasten off.

23-30: Ch 1, SC BLO in each st around, join with sl st to first SC (72)
31: Ch 1, SC in each st around, join with sl st to first SC (72)
Button:
I didn’t increase on my beanie as a normal circle because it started to fold, mostly just want a loose circle here…if it starts to fold stop increasing, if it starts to cave in, add an increase!
1: With White, MC, Ch 2. HDC 10 into ring, pull tight, close with sl st to first HDC (10)
2: Ch 2, 2 HDC in each st around, join with sl st to first HDC (20)
3: Ch 2, (HDC in the next 3 st, 2 HDC in the next) 5x, HDC in the last st, join with sl st to first HDC, Fasten off. (26)
4: Join Black, Ch 2, (HDC in the next 4 st, 2 HDC in the next) around, join with sl St to the first HDC
5: Ch 1, SC around (I added 3 increases), sl St to first SC, Fasten off with a long tail.
Assemble that Sh*t:
Find your seam, making it the back of the beanie, find the point where you want the button to be and sew it (not too tightly) in the middle of the black stripe!
A little slouchier than I was expecting based on the picture, but I like it.

yeah, I may add to the notes that I typically crochet very tightly, although I tried to relax on this one, haha.

I should probably change my name, but I haven’t thought of anything I like as much quite yet!
